Clint (Willem Dafoe) is a damaged man who has retreated to a wintry remote mountain cabin where he hopes to find serenity. He runs a modest cafe where the rare traveler or native of the region visits. But even in his relative isolation he cannot find peace nor escape. On a fateful evening, to confront himself, he begins a journey by dogsled to the world he once knew. He travels through dreams, memory and imagination in an attempt to find his true nature.

A slow burning contemporary Western about a native farmer (Vangelis Mourikis) who lives and works alone in a farmhouse in the heart of a mountain forest in Northern Greece. For years now, he has been fighting with an expanding industrial Monster digging up the forest, disturbing the lush flora and threatening his property. Yet, the greatest threat comes with the sudden arrival of his young son (Argyris Pandazaras), after a twenty year separation. They turn into enemies under one roof. Father and son confront each other head on, with nature as their only observer, a showdown that ultimately yields an unexpected redemption for both.
The World Premiere of DIGGER in the Berlinale Panorama section is scheduled for February 24.

Being a survivor cannot be put into words. But you need to live and approach that irradiation that may be without any cause, any knowledge, any possible protection. You need to, for the cause of mankind, experience and understand the various forms of evil – from trenches to atolls, from camps to silence. Evil irradiates. It hurts including further generations. But innocence lies beyond.
The World Premiere of IRRADIATED in the Berlinale Competition section is scheduled for February 28.
